Mediadads.com is dedicated to Fathers and the bonds they have with their children. It is designed to raise consciousness about how fathers are portrayed in the media, and how they are thought about in the Public Mind.
This site was launched for Father's Day 2007 with a few movie reviews. These are designed to entertain and inform anyone with an interest in what kind of fathers they may find on DVDs or current attractions.
We believe that a father wants to take his kids to the movies to have fun, and maybe to add to their personal and social education. A father doesn't want to take his children to the show only to be ambushed by a movie that disparages fatherhood, or men in general.
This takes on additional importance in today's world, where so many children are being raised in households that may be antithetical to fatherhood. In such cases, a father will want to know if his one visit with the children this week is going to feed a back story in their lives that harms both the children and the father.
While other movie reviewers will outline a plot and tell us about actors, directors and music, they do not specifically address the nature of the fathers in the picture. Mediadads.com is the first website dedicated to providing both. Sometimes irreverent to the norms of the world we find ourselves in, and sometimes tongue in cheek, the reviews you'll find here are designed to be fun, uniquely informative, and always written with a true respect for those who have answered the call of Fatherhood.
